About THE TOYS
The Toys formed in the early 80s in the heart of the steel valley, Steubenville, Ohio, by a group of friends that had a passion for kick-ass rock & roll...... at the peak of the Toys success, they toured internationally for CBS Records as “Rachel Sweet & the Toys” working with such acts as The Jerry Garcia Band, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, and the Romantics. The Toys also performed “live” on several TV shows including “The Merv Griffin Show”, radio simulcasts on WMMS - Cleveland, WBCN - Boston as well as performances at legendary venues such as The Bottom Line in New York City, The Roxy in Los Angeles, The Paradise Theatre in Boston and the El Mocambo in Toronto, Canada. During this time “The Toys” also associated with numerous artists including; Crack The Sky, Van Halen, The J. Geils Band, Roy Bittan of the E Street Band, Phoebie Snow, David Robinson of the Cars, Wild Cherry, Paul Stanley & Gene Simmons of KISS, and many other top acts.
