About TheLoose Cannons Band:
The Loose Cannons Band is one of the “best kept secrets” of the Ohio Valley. The band was started in 1996 by Sam Lucarelli and John Ledger after working together in other bands in the area. Sam and John decided to form a band that specializes in classic rock with occasional contemporary country and a few newer songs to create a band that offers top notch entertainment. The Loose Cannons band is dedicated to providing the music people love to dance to, sing along with, and just plain enjoy. The band has gone through several personnel changes over the years and in early 2009 took a breather to regroup and reform. Sam and John remained as the nucleus of the band. A strong rhythm section
was needed to round out the band so Dan Dyer joined the team on bass and Bill Moon joined as the drummer.
Sam Lucarelli is the heart of the band and the undisputed musical leader. His keen sense of musical accuracy and desire to create tight music is evident with every performance. Sam has been playing guitar in multiple bands in the Ohio Valley such as White Oak for more years than he is willing to admit. Sam’s love of music is evident in the accuracy and heart he provides in every performance. Sam’s lead guitar artistry and smooth vocals are rich and always delivered with style and sure to please any crowd. John Ledger became known throughout the valley as the legendary lead singer with the White Oak band. John’s singing performance is smooth, clean and a must see and hear – there is none better in the valley.
John strong rhythm guitar work is a staple for the band. His playful attitude and strong performances have drawn rave reviews wherever the band has played. John is very approachable and a real crowd favorite. Dan Dyer the multi talented bass guitarist has played and sang throughout the eastern United States with multiple bands. Dan opened for several music stars over the years and finally returned to his roots in the Ohio Valley in recent years. Dan originally played keyboards, rhythm guitar and recently switched to bass guitar. Dan, Sam and John all knew each other from working the same clubs in the past. When The Loose Cannons needed a bass player Dan was an obvious choice. Dan sings lead and backup on multiple numbers. Bill Moon started playing drums in grade school and has never looked back. Bill provides the solid beat to keep the band on track, sings an occasional song and provides backup vocals. Bill started playing rock n roll in small garage bands as a teenager and has played with multiple bands over the years such as The Kids Next Door, Mason County Line and the Tumbleweed Band before joining the The Loose Cannons band. Bill loves playing the drums and performing. He always welcomes talking to the folks who come out to hear the band play.
