About Cello Fury:

Cello Fury is a rarity in the music world: three classically trained cellists and a rock drummer performing high-octane music in locales ranging from concert halls to biker bars. Appealing to a wide audience--from kids to adults, metal heads to classical music lovers--sets Cello Fury apart from your average rock band. Begun as a cover band of four cellists in 2004 called Cellofourte, three of its former band members have continued to evolve in the music world, developing their own unique style of cello rock in Cello Fury. With the introduction of a drummer in 2009, cellists Simon Cummings, Ben Muñoz and Nicole Myers have unleashed a new vitality and rhythmic drive to their already passionate and captivating music. Cello Fury has performed the half time show for the Pittsburgh Steelers, premiered music by classical composer Nancy Galbraith, and collaborates with the modern dance company, Bodiography.

Currently on the roster for the "Gateway to the Arts" educational outreach program, Cello Fury continues to expand its base and inspire to young audiences. While performing together, band members Simon, Ben and Nicole proved that the cello is much more than a classical instrument, winning five rounds of the Emergenza Battle of the Bands, and were featured on the front page of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. In June of 2008, Simon, Ben and Nicole appeared as soloists with the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops under the direction of Marvin Hamlisch, and have performed live on television programs such as Comcast’s On-Demand, KDKA’s “Pittsburgh Today Live”, and the WQED Holiday Jam 2007, as well as on WQED and KDKA radio stations. Cellofourte’s first music video was produced by the John Lennon Foundation, the result of winning the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Battle of the Bands. The band's collective experiences have allowed them to perform in intimate club settings and for audiences as large as 67,000 at college venues, clubs, music festivals, stadiums, classical performance spaces, conferences, showcases, schools, and churches throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Missouri, Maine and New Hampshire.
